Interesting that the three world men’s tennis champions, come from countries beginning with an “s,” Serbia, Spain and Switzerland. Perhaps much more interesting is the fact that these men are friends, but once on the court, the man across the net becomes a rival and the warrior kicks in to defeat his opponent—no matter who he is.

Djokovic is ready for a new season, and speaks positively about continuing his domination and a repeat of his spectacular achievements of 2011.

Nadal, pushing himself to do more in the 2012 season believing he can and says, “I will be nearly back to winning things again.”

Federer has said that he usually does well in a new season if he finishes the previous season victoriously. And so he did, and we shall see if he continues his winning streak from 2011. Djokovic won three of the four Grand Slams and five Masters this year and assembled a 70-6 winning record. His progress towards the end of the year was slowed by a series of back and shoulder injuries, but the Serb insists he is well rested as 2012 approaches.

‘This year’s success gives me a reason to believe that I can win again.
